1. Who you are agreeing with

VCBLRY (“the service”) is operated by IdeaRig as a personal, non-commercial project from Germany. Contact details are in the Impressum. By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms.

2. What the service is

A vocabulary trainer for German at levels A1 to B1. It shows you words, checks what you type, tracks which words you keep missing, and explains the misses.

You can reach it at app.vcblry.com, and still at app.idearig.com. These are two addresses for one service — the same account, the same progress, the same data. Signing in at either works. VCBLRY is the trainer’s name; the older address keeps working and nothing about your account changes with the one you use.

It is a practice tool, not a course or a qualification. It is not affiliated with the Goethe-Institut or any examining body, and using it is not a guarantee of passing anything.

It can be wrong. Vocabulary, translations and grammar notes may contain errors, and answer checking is partly automated — it can reject an answer that was acceptable, or accept one that was not. If something looks wrong, it probably is; tell me and I will fix it.

3. Accounts and access

Accounts are currently created by invitation. An account is for one person: keep your password to yourself, and tell me promptly if you think someone else has it.

Access can be withdrawn — the service is free and provided at my discretion. In practice that means a breach of section 5, or the service closing down. Your data remains yours either way; see the privacy policy.

4. Minimum age

You must be at least 16 years old to use VCBLRY. If you are under 16, please do not create an account. If you believe an account belongs to someone under 16, write to contact@idearig.com and I will remove it.

5. Acceptable use

Please do not:

• use automated means to access the service — scripts, scrapers, bots — or try to extract the vocabulary corpus in bulk;
• try to obtain answer keys other than by answering, or work around the usage limits;
• probe, disrupt or overload the service, or try to reach data that is not yours;
• resell, sublicense or republish the service or its content as your own.

There is a daily limit on practice rounds, which exists to keep running costs predictable. It may change.

6. Content and rights

The German vocabulary is drawn from publicly published Goethe-Institut word lists together with my own course notes; the selection, level classification, explanations, software and site text are my own work. You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service for your own learning. That is not a licence to redistribute its content.

What you type stays yours. Your answers are used to run the service — check them, weight your words, show your progress — and for nothing else. They are never sold, and they are not used to train anyone’s models. The detail is in the privacy policy.

7. Availability

The service is free and provided on a best-effort basis. There is no uptime guarantee, no support commitment, and features may change or be removed. I may discontinue it; if I do, I will give you reasonable notice by email so you can retrieve or delete your data.

8. Ending it

You can stop at any time and ask for your account and data to be deleted — write to contact@idearig.com. What deletion does and does not cover is set out plainly in the privacy policy.

9. Liability

I am liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and where the Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz) applies.

For slight negligence I am liable only where a material contractual obligation has been breached — an obligation whose fulfilment makes proper performance possible in the first place and on which you may reasonably rely — and then only for foreseeable damage typical of this kind of agreement. Liability is otherwise excluded.

Because the service is provided free of charge, § 521 BGB additionally limits my liability to intent and gross negligence. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms may change — for instance if the service starts costing money to run differently, or begins carrying advertising. Substantive changes will be notified by email to registered users before they take effect. The date at the top of this page always shows the version in force; continued use after a change means you accept it. If you do not, you can close your account.

11. Governing law

German law applies. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protections of mandatory law in your country of residence.
